This day honours the victims who never made it home and celebrates the survivors of residential schools, their families and communities. It is a day to commemorate the tragic and painful history and ongoing impacts of residential schools. It is a day to take part in services or ceremonies and to educate yourself on the history of residential schools.
The Town of Balgonie has passed a resolution in 2022 to close the office to honour the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. The Town Office will be closed on Monday, September 30th. Should you require emergency assistance, please call 306-535-4235. Our regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, October 1st.
