2022 Swimming Lesson Registration
The Balgonie Swimming Pool is happy to announce registration day will be open to anyone who chooses to register on May 29th from 10:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Balgonie Multiplex. Those not able to make that day will be required to register in person at the Life Guard shack. Payments are due at time of registration by cash, online payment or cheque made payable to the Balgonie Recreation Board. We will be returning to regular class sizes this year, and caregivers will not be required to be in the water unless specifically required for that class/age group.

Pursuant to Section 55 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, the Council of the Town of Balgonie gives notice that a Discretionary Application has been received and the details are as follows:
Discretionary Use Permit: Liquor License Establishment
104 Griffin Road E., Balgonie, Saskatchewan
Intended Discretionary Use: To allow for a business to obtain a liquor license in its establishment (see map below).
PUBLIC HEARING:
Council will hold a public hearing to receive submissions on the proposed Discretionary Use Application on April 11, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Balgonie Administration Building – Council Chambers – 129 Railway St. E. Council will also consider written submissions received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Municipal Office before the hearing. The Town of Balgonie is excited to try something new this year! Have you always had a knack for photography, or feel like you are constantly pulling your phone/camera out of your pocket to capture a great moment? Submit your photos of Balgonie and/or the surrounding area by September 30th for your chance to win one of three gift baskets valued at over $150 each!

Rules: Images must be taken in the Town of Balgonie or surrounding area. There is a limit of four image submissions per photographer. By submitting photos, you are giving the Town of Balgonie permission to use them on our Website/Social Media and in our marketing campaigns. We will give credit to the photographer.

Term Administrative Office Position
The Town of Balgonie is accepting applications for a term administrative office position from May 2022 to September 2023.
This position will be 35 hours per week and the employee will be expected to work Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills:
- Basic office skills;
- Strong keyboard, written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience in Microsoft programs such as Office, Word, Excel and Outlook;
- Dependability and professionalism;
- Attention to detail;
- Administrative writing and reporting skills;
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy;
- Positive attitude and willingness to work alongside other Staff, Council Members and Ratepayers;
- Municipal experience would be an asset – knowledge of MuniSoft, Bylaw interpretation, project management, grant applications, providing information to ratepayers regarding bylaws and regulations, etc.
The wage is to be negotiated dependent on previous municipal experience or education in Local Government Authority.
