Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Balgonie intends to adopt a Bylaw, under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Bylaw No. 374/2014, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

INTENT:
The proposed Bylaw will increase the maximum area of accessory buildings in the residential districts.

REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT:
The Bylaw amendment will correct an error in a previous Bylaw.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:
Any person may inspect the Bylaw at the Town of Balgonie Municipal Office Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at a cost at the Municipal Office.

PUBLIC HEARING:
Council will hold a public hearing to receive submissions on the proposed Bylaw on 11th day of October 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Balgonie Council Chambers. Council will also consider written submissions received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Municipal Office before the hearing. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BYLAW NO. 432/2022

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Balgonie intends to adopt a Bylaw, under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Bylaw No. 374/2014, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

INTENT:
The proposed Bylaw will rezone a portion of Blk/Par E, Plan 102190777 from FUD-Future Urban Development District to CS-Community Service District, exempt public utilities from site development regulations in all zoning districts, and increase the maximum area and building height of accessory buildings in the residential districts.
The land to be rezoned is outlined in a bold dashed line on the map below:’

REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT:
The reason for the Bylaw amendment is to allow larger accessory buildings and structures in the R1-Residential District and R2-Residential Multiple Dwelling District. The proposed Bylaw will also accommodate the development of a public utility parcel.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BYLAW NO. 432/2022


2022 Swimming Lesson Registration

The Balgonie Swimming Pool is happy to announce registration day will be open to anyone who chooses to register on May 29th from 10:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Balgonie Multiplex. Those not able to make that day will be required to register in person at the Life Guard shack. Payments are due at time of registration by cash, online payment or cheque made payable to the Balgonie Recreation Board. We will be returning to regular class sizes this year, and caregivers will not be required to be in the water unless specifically required for that class/age group.

Term Administrative Office Position

The Town of Balgonie is accepting applications for a term administrative office position from May 2022 to September 2023.

This position will be 35 hours per week and the employee will be expected to work Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications/Skills:

  • Basic office skills;
  • Strong keyboard, written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience in Microsoft programs such as Office, Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Dependability and professionalism;
  • Attention to detail;
  • Administrative writing and reporting skills;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work, and meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy;
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work alongside other Staff, Council Members and Ratepayers;
  • Municipal experience would be an asset – knowledge of MuniSoft, Bylaw interpretation, project management, grant applications, providing information to ratepayers regarding bylaws and regulations, etc.

The wage is to be negotiated dependent on previous municipal experience or education in Local Government Authority.
