Pursuant to Section 55 of The Planning and Development Act, 2007, the Council of the Town of Balgonie gives notice that a Discretionary Use Application has been received and the details are as follows:

Discretionary Use Application: Cannabis Retail Operation

125 Hwy 364, Balgonie, Saskatchewan (Zoning: HPC-High Profile Commercial District)

Intended Discretionary Use: To Allow a Cannabis Retail Business (see map below)

Public Hearing:

Council will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. to receive submissions on the proposed Discretionary Use Application on March 27, 2023 at the Balgonie Administration Building, Council Chambers – 129 Railway Street E. Council will also consider written submissions received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Municipal Office before the hearing. Discretionary Use Application Poster

Notice is hereby given that the Assessment Roll for the Town of Balgonie for the year 2023 has been prepared and is open to inspection in the office of the Assessor during normal business hours from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday – February 24 to March 27, 2023.

A Bylaw pursuant to Section 214 of The Municipalities Act has been passed and the Assessment Notices have been sent as required.

Any person who wishes to appeal against his or her assessment is required to file his or her Notice of Appeal accompanied by a $75.00 fee for each assessment being appealed, which will be returned if the appeal is successful with:

2023 Assessment Notice Poster

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Balgonie intends to adopt a Bylaw, under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Bylaw No. 374/2014, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

INTENT:
The proposed Bylaw will increase the maximum area of accessory buildings in the residential districts.

REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT:
The Bylaw amendment will correct an error in a previous Bylaw.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:
Any person may inspect the Bylaw at the Town of Balgonie Municipal Office Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at a cost at the Municipal Office.

PUBLIC HEARING:
Council will hold a public hearing to receive submissions on the proposed Bylaw on 11th day of October 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Balgonie Council Chambers. Council will also consider written submissions received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Municipal Office before the hearing. TOWN OF BALGONIE
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BYLAW NO. 432/2022

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Balgonie intends to adopt a Bylaw, under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Bylaw No. 374/2014, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

INTENT:
The proposed Bylaw will rezone a portion of Blk/Par E, Plan 102190777 from FUD-Future Urban Development District to CS-Community Service District, exempt public utilities from site development regulations in all zoning districts, and increase the maximum area and building height of accessory buildings in the residential districts.
The land to be rezoned is outlined in a bold dashed line on the map below:’

REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT:
The reason for the Bylaw amendment is to allow larger accessory buildings and structures in the R1-Residential District and R2-Residential Multiple Dwelling District. The proposed Bylaw will also accommodate the development of a public utility parcel.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:
Any person may inspect the Bylaw at the Town of Balgonie Municipal Office Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm excluding statutory holidays. Printed copies are available at cost at the Municipal Office or may be viewed online at www.townofbalgonie.ca.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BYLAW NO. 432/2022

The following is a summary of The Town of Balgonie water quality and sample submission compliance record for the June 2021 – June 2022 time period.

The 2021 Financial Statements for the Town of Balgonie have been posted on the Financial Statements page.

The Balgonie Swimming Pool is happy to announce registration day will be open to anyone who chooses to register on May 29^th from 10:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Balgonie Multiplex. Those not able to make that day will be required to register in person at the Life Guard shack. Payments are due at time of registration by cash, online payment or cheque made payable to the Balgonie Recreation Board. We will be returning to regular class sizes this year, and caregivers will not be required to be in the water unless specifically required for that class/age group.
