Public Hearing:

Council will hold a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. to receive submissions on the proposed Discretionary Use Application on March 27, 2023 at the Balgonie Administration Building, Council Chambers – 129 Railway Street E. Council will also consider written submissions received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Municipal Office before the hearing. Notice of Preparation of the Assessment Roll Town of Balgonie

Notice is hereby given that the Assessment Roll for the Town of Balgonie for the year 2023 has been prepared and is open to inspection in the office of the Assessor during normal business hours from 9 a.m. to noon and 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday – February 24 to March 27, 2023.

A Bylaw pursuant to Section 214 of The Municipalities Act has been passed and the Assessment Notices have been sent as required.

Any person who wishes to appeal against his or her assessment is required to file his or her Notice of Appeal accompanied by a $75.00 fee for each assessment being appealed, which will be returned if the appeal is successful with:

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT BYLAW 436/2022

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Balgonie intends to adopt a Bylaw, under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Bylaw No. 374/2014, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

INTENT:
The proposed Bylaw will increase the maximum area of accessory buildings in the residential districts.

REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT:
The Bylaw amendment will correct an error in a previous Bylaw.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:
Any person may inspect the Bylaw at the Town of Balgonie Municipal Office Monday to Friday between 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at a cost at the Municipal Office.

PUBLIC HEARING:
Council will hold a public hearing to receive submissions on the proposed Bylaw on 11th day of October 2022 at 7:00 p.m. at the Town of Balgonie Council Chambers. Council will also consider written submissions received at the hearing or delivered to the undersigned at the Municipal Office before the hearing. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BYLAW NO. 432/2022

Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Balgonie intends to adopt a Bylaw, under The Planning and Development Act, 2007, to amend Bylaw No. 374/2014, known as the Zoning Bylaw.

INTENT:
The proposed Bylaw will rezone a portion of Blk/Par E, Plan 102190777 from FUD-Future Urban Development District to CS-Community Service District, exempt public utilities from site development regulations in all zoning districts, and increase the maximum area and building height of accessory buildings in the residential districts.
The land to be rezoned is outlined in a bold dashed line on the map below:’

REASON FOR THE AMENDMENT:
The reason for the Bylaw amendment is to allow larger accessory buildings and structures in the R1-Residential District and R2-Residential Multiple Dwelling District. The proposed Bylaw will also accommodate the development of a public utility parcel.

PUBLIC INSPECTION:

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT BYLAW NO. 432/2022


2022 Swimming Lesson Registration

The Balgonie Swimming Pool is happy to announce registration day will be open to anyone who chooses to register on May 29th from 10:00a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Balgonie Multiplex. Those not able to make that day will be required to register in person at the Life Guard shack. Payments are due at time of registration by cash, online payment or cheque made payable to the Balgonie Recreation Board. We will be returning to regular class sizes this year, and caregivers will not be required to be in the water unless specifically required for that class/age group.

Registration forms can be found on the Swimming Pool page of the website.

We are also looking for new Board Members. If you are interested in becoming a member, please contact the Town Office at 306-771-2284 or [email protected]. We look forward to meeting some new faces.

The Town of Balgonie is avoiding passing on the cost of card payments to all residents, so those wishing to pay by credit card or debit card will be charged a fee. This fee is charged by Plastiq, not the Town of Balgonie. (2.9% for credit cards, 1% for debit cards).
