Notice from the Quad Town Forum
We have received a notice from the Quad Town Forum along with an updated list of public closures in the neighbouring towns and rural municipalities.
COVID-19 Response

In response to the COVID-19 Coronavirus:
The Town of Balgonie has decided to close its recreational and culture facilities in order to slow the rate of the COVID-19 infection, effective March 17, 2020. The Arena, Multiplex Hall, Heritage Place, the 50+ Club, the Balgonie Branch Library, the Balgonie Curling Rink will be closed until further notice.
The Town will also close the Balgonie Town Office for public access, although staff will be available via telephone and email. Residents who wish to make payments are asked to do so online with your financial institution or mail your payment to our office. Public works staff will continue to perform their essential duties to ensure ongoing municipal services including, water, sewer, road and path maintenance. If you have any questions, please call 306-771-2284 or email [email protected]. After hours emergencies to be reported to 306-535-4235.
The Town Council meeting scheduled for March 23 has been cancelled, in further efforts to reduce community contact. April Council meetings will be advertised as the situation is reviewed.
These decisions were not made lightly; however, were made in the best interests regarding the health of our community and to prevent strain on our local health services. The Town of Balgonie will continue to communicate about reopening these facilities with its ratepayers as more information becomes available.
Door for Tender
The Town of Balgonie is accepting bids on the garage door shown in the poster. The door is 10′ wide by 12′ high (rails are included).
Sealed tenders will be accepted at the Town office until Monday, March 2, 2020 at 4:00 p.m.

Recycling Information
Health services survey

The Town of Pilot Butte recently surveyed their residents to determine the level of interest in obtaining health services in their community. The survey is complete but those living in close proximity to Pilot Butte may also have an interest in participating in this survey and may utilize various health services in Pilot Butte if available.
Responses can be submitted on Survey Monkey thru to February 24, 2020. The Town of Pilot Butte anticipates an open house in March for health care practitioners who will find this information advantageous.
Mature Driver Refresher Course
Date: Feb 26, 2020

Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Registration is Required – Bring a lunch

This completely FREE 6-hour Mature Driver Refresher Course is strictly informational and offered in a positive, open class environment. Participant driver’s licenses are not affected and there are no required examinations.
The Mature Driver Refresher Course helps reinforce safe driving habits. It will increase your confidence when navigating Saskatchewan’s increasing city and highway traffic. It provides insight into how to adapt your driving habits based on the physical changes your body goes through as it matures.
Some of the topics discussed in the course are:
- Normal driving situations such as intersections, following distance and maintaining an open “gate” around your vehicle.
- Hazardous driving environments such as skids, the head-on collision, hydroplaning, how to protect yourself while driving.
- Traffic guidance such as sign recognition and pavement markings.
- Review of safety devices such as seat belts and air bags.
- Medication awareness, vision and effective use of your eyes.

Balgonie Soccer Needs You

If these positions are not filled, there will not be an outdoor soccer season in Balgonie.
The Soccer Board is in dire need of board members.
Current vacant positions are:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Inter-zone Soccer Representative
Without the filling of these positions the soccer committee will no longer be able to operate.
We don’t want to see Balgonie soccer come to an end in our community, so we need your help. The Board meets approximately only once a month, and every other year we host the tournament for the region.
